Bach Flower Remedy for the Horse A well balanced mind ![]() is far nicer to be around! Spooky or Anxious Horses Highly strung animals Mareish mares when in season Afraid of roadworks, bags in hedges, windy days, another herd member Separation anxiety Following an accident or trauma or frightened rescue animal Lack of concentration duriing schooling To encourage perseverance after a setback Horses who are slow to leave the yard but hurry back Unpredictably bite or buck Fussy Eaters, or intolerance of others Over-demanding, attention seeking Dominant horse who refuses to listen to its owner or give the rest of the herd its space Those who are unwilling to integrate with the herd Restlessness Timid animals Anger or aggressive animals Times of change - of yards in introduction of a new animal. Easily overwhelmed - travelling, farrier, dentist, etc. Lacking in confidence History of trauma or loss of a companion Abused Depressed The spark has gone out of their eyes Their spirit has gone These are some of the most common states in which horses and other animals can get into. The flower remedies are simply put into their water or in a treat and as animals are so honest with themselves they generally react very quickly - minutes, hours or days rather than weeks as it can take some people. There are no side effects to Bach Flower Remedies and you can't overdose on them. They don't react to other medications and are therefore completely safe to use (although you do need to be aware that they are preserved in organic brandy and care should therefore be taken with small animals). Under the Veterinary Surgeon's Act 1966, we'll need to inform your vet that we're planning to treat your animal with Bach Flower Remedies and request their permission to do so.
