What Happens During a Massage Visit? ![]() ![]() After I've taken any clinical history and done a gait assessment I'll start the massage and reiki treatment. At the time of booking the massage it's a good idea to consider the goings on at the yard during the course of a day as whilst the feedback from the horses during massage can be very rewarding, it generally reflects the atmosphere in their surroundings at the time. i.e. A quiet yard results in a relaxed horse whilst loud noises will generally attract their attention and snap them out of their relaxed state. The greatest reward is when they relax and their head drops, eyes half close and the bottom lip starts to quiver. Throughout the massage, my hands will be my eyes and I'll assess your horse's reaction to touch and use different techniques in order to ensure that your horse receives the most beneficial massage for them. Your horse will also receive reiki during the massage as I'll spend some time sending them this healing energy (although it tends to flow naturally during the massage when required). Your horse will repond with their ears, mouth, tail and using skin twitching, sighing, chewing and licking. To arrange a visit, email: lindabw@btinternet.com |
